Jocelyn Elisa

Soprano

I’m a ” Newyorican,” raised with the Latin beats of Puerto Rican music and singing the songs from Broadway musicals. I started choral music in church as a child and graduated to studying Modern, Jazz, African, Middle Eastern and Latin dance in my teens and twenties. I began studying Jazz vocals in 1993 with OJC under the direction of Molly Holm. I continued training with various Bay Area vocalists ( including Mark Murphy), at the Jazz School and Jazz Camp West. I produced and recorded my 1st Latin Jazz CD in 2001. Returned to OJC in 2019 and have been producing and performing in free “Porch Concerts” since July 2020
