Keara Kelleher

Soprano

Keara’s a recent transplant to the Bay Area after graduating from Miami University in Ohio. Born and raised just outside Minneapolis, MN, her love for music and performing was cultivated through her parents’ musicality and constant encouragement. Thrust onto the stage from a young age, Keara had early experiences singing with her younger siblings in the church choir and competing in county fair talent shows.  In High School, Keara excelled musically, singing and playing tenor saxophone in the jazz band, spending her summers in jazz workshops, and performing in musical theatre. In college, Keara took academic liberties to explore new musical outlets, continuing in the jazz band and briefly joining steel drumming. She eventually earned the role of the lead singer and saxophonist in an R&B/Soul cover band.

Jazz has always been special to Keara; she enjoys the creativity in improvisation, the rich melodies and harmonies, and the culture and community that follows jazz wherever it goes. Keara is ecstatic to be joining OJC and is excited to be a part of this group’s rich history and sing alongside a very talented bunch of musicians.
