Starting with studying classical piano from ages 8-18 and being a member of a choirs since age 10, Eugenie considers music a lifelong passion. Eugenie joined the Oakland Jazz Choir for the first time in the 90’s when it was a 40-member choir then left after several years to sing in smaller jazz ensembles.  She returned to the OJC in 2012, happy to rejoin the OJC family.  Besides singing in the OJC, Eugenie sings and plays bass in her own band (Bassments) and has been a producer of live outdoor music events in her community (Albany COVIDchella and Move’n’Groove) since the start of the pandemic. Besides her involvement in music and the arts, Eugenie is the mother of two older teens, serves on the board of a rare disease advocacy organization and maintains a part-time practice as a clinical psychologist.
