Bass/Baritone

René Minneboo is a classically trained bass baritone who also sings the occasional tenor solo but my passion for music is not limited to classical works and show tunes (The University of California Alumni Chorus and Chora Nova) or Russian liturgical, folk music and romances. (Slavyanka Russian Chorus)

I have performed with these choirs and as soloist locally and on tour in Russia, South Africa and many European countries.

I was born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, I learned English, German, French and Dutch as a child not knowing this would greatly facilitate navigating all these foreign languages of the classical repertoire.

I love singing jazz, standards from The Great American Songbook and Spirituals and now the delightful but challenging arrangements with the Oakland Jazz Choir. Yes I am a bit intimidated by this music as it is new and quite different from my experience but I trust to be able to contribute with a little help from my new friends of OJC.
